cuthalf is a single-player game. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of its own. One thing in it sends data off your device by itself, and that is the advertising. The other is a play log that leaves only if you send it to us by email yourself. This policy says exactly what both are.
The game is made and published by Elif Mermer as Marbels Creator. Elif Mermer is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR and can be reached at the address at the bottom of this page.
Your progress — best score, coins, the items you own, your daily missions and streak, and your settings — is written to a file inside the app's own storage. It never leaves the device, it is never sent to us, and deleting the app deletes it. There is no cloud save and no account to recover it from.
To tune how hard the game is, how quickly levels come and what things cost, the game keeps a small log of how it is played, in a second file beside your progress. It holds only numbers about play:
It holds no name, account, contact, location, advertising identifier or device identifier. It stays small on its own: old entries are dropped as new ones arrive.
It never leaves your device unless you choose to send it. In Settings, Help improve the game shows what is in it and opens your own mail app with the log in an email to us; you can read, change or delete the email before you send it, and nothing is sent if you do not. The game may ask once or twice whether you would like to; saying no changes nothing. If you send it, we receive it as an ordinary email, which also shows us the address you sent it from. We use it only to balance the game, never to contact you about anything else, and we delete it on request.
cuthalf shows adverts through Google AdMob. There is a banner on the pause and results screens, and videos you can choose to watch, either for coins or to carry on a run after losing your last heart. Nothing is shown until you have finished three runs, and no video ever plays unless you press the button that offers it. The game is the same on iPhone and Android.
To choose and measure those adverts, Google receives:
Google acts as an independent controller of that data and uses it under its own terms. What it collects and why is described in Google's advertising privacy policy, and the companies it may share it with are listed in Google's list of advertising partners. Google's servers are in the United States and other countries, so this is an international transfer; Google makes it under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We do not receive any of it ourselves. What reaches us from AdMob is a count of adverts and money earned, with nobody's name or device in it.
If you buy something in the game, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple on iPhone and by Google Play on Android. cuthalf never sees your name, your payment details, or your Apple or Google account. The store tells the app only whether a purchase succeeded, and that answer is what unlocks the item. On Android the game also keeps Google Play's reference for a coin purchase beside your progress until the purchase is complete, so a crash cannot pay it out twice; like the rest of your progress, it never leaves the device. The store's own privacy policy governs the transaction.
cuthalf is not directed at children under 13. It has no chat, no social features, and no user-generated content, and it is not published in the App Store's Kids category or as a children's app on Google Play. In AdMob it is not marked as child-directed, so if you are under the age of digital consent where you live, do not allow tracking.
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act, you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its use, and complain to your data protection authority. For anything cuthalf holds the answer is short — it holds nothing off your device unless you have emailed us your play log, and that we delete whenever you ask — but write to the address below and you will get a reply. We do not sell personal information.
This page always describes the version of cuthalf currently on the App Store and Google Play. If a later version collects something new, this page and both stores' privacy labels are updated before that version ships.
